Pedestrian hit, killed attempting to cross U.S. 95, Nevada State police say

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — Nevada State police said a pedestrian was hit and killed after he attempted to cross the U.S. 95 last week.

At around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26, officers with the Nevada State Police responded to a crash in the area of U.S. 95 and mile marker 4 in Clark County, approximately 6 miles southeast of Boulder City.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an SUV was driving south on U.S. 95 in the right travel lane when a pedestrian crossed in front of it from the center median. The SUV hit the pedestrian before coming to a controlled stop on the shoulder of the road.

Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian, later identified as Julian Gusan, 34, from Redlands, California, as dead on the scene after he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the SUV stay on scene for investigating officers.

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command has investigated 21 fatal crashes resulting in 26 fatalities in 2024.
