Arts District pizza parlor owner demands action from city after failed copper wire theft

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The owner of Good Pie pizza parlor in the Arts District said it was hit by copper wire thieves over the holiday weekend. However, the failed theft left its air conditioning unit broken, spoiling its ingredients.

If you wanted to grab Good Pie for lunch on Tuesday, you were met by a sign saying it’s closed.

The restaurant was able to reopen, but not without having to close for half of the day. The owner of Good Pie, Vincent Rotolo, said that the attempted copper wire theft is more than just half a day of closed business, he wants it to be a wake-up call for the city.

“52 people came here for lunch today and were turned away. Those people travel from different places in the valley looking for a Good Pie, and now they’re deprived because someone wanted to steal copper,” Rotolo said.

Rotolo said the would-be thieves managed to make their way onto the roof and cut the air conditioner lines before giving up on the attempt to get copper. Their refrigerator was at 60 degrees, and their special dough room was ruined.
