S. Nevada firefighters return home after assisting efforts up north

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Nearly three-dozen southern Nevada firefighters have returned home after heading north to Reno to give assistance fighting the Davis Fire

Back on September 11th, a 34-person strike team comprised of Clark County, Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas Fire Departments headed north to help in the firefighting efforts.

It was originally estimated that those crews could have been there for as long as two weeks, but favorable weather conditions helped with overall effort, with containment of the Davis Fire now at 92 percent.

The Davis Fire broke out on September 7th southwest of Reno and has burned just shy 6,000 acres. An exact cause hasn’t yet been determined.
