Burglary suspect shot, killed by Metro Police

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police were involved in a shooting Friday morning that left a burglary suspect dead.

Police first got a call just after 9am about a man trying to open doors and threatening residents at an apartment complex near Russell and U.S. 95.

When they arrived on scene, police say the man was uncooperative and used a car to shield himself from officers.

They say the man then got an aluminum bat out of the car and approached police, who used less lethal options to try and slow the man down.

Those methods failed to work, and officers then fired shots. The suspect was hit and died at the scene. No officers were injured.

The identities of both the suspect and the officers involved have not yet been released.
