LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) – A Nevada doctor has been sentenced to more than two years in prison for illegally distributing opioid medication. 69-year-old William Alvear of Las Vegas will serve 27 months in prison followed by three years of parole for unlawfully distributing opioids without a medically legitimate purpose. Alvear will also pay a fine of $75,000.
