LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman is dead and police said they are looking for the suspect who stabbed her multiple times Monday evening.
Las Vegas Metropolitan police received a report shortly before 10 p.m. that a woman was stabbed in the landscape area along the sidewalk of Sahara Avenue near Maryland Parkway.
Lt. Jason Johansson said the officers found the woman, who was in her 50s, and began giving her life-saving treatment but when medical help arrived she was pronounced dead.
He said police learned the “unhoused” woman was in the landscape area with her husband and another man.
“The boyfriend left to go to the store to get her some things from the store around the corner and when he came back he found his wife had been stabbed,” Johannsson said. “On scene, we did locate a knife and were able to confirm through video surveillance the husband’s account that he left and she was here.”
Police are viewing surveillance video to get more details on the suspect who was last seen walking westbound along Sahara.
