19-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash in southwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 19-year-old motorcyclist became the 117th traffic-related fatality of 2024 when he was killed in a crash Monday night.

The crash was reported at 11 p.m. at Fort Apache Road and Desert Inn Road intersection.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan police, the motorcyclist was traveling north on Fort Apache approaching the intersection when he struck a BMW making a left turn on a flashing yellow light from southbound Fort Apache to eastbound Desert Inn. The motorcyclist died at the scene.

The BMW driver remained at the scene and didn’t show signs of impairment, police said. The crash is under investigation.
