On October 10, 2024, Las Vegas Sands announced its partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) to award 13 students from HACU-member institutions with Sands Hospitality Advancement Scholarships. This initiative supports students preparing for careers in the travel, tourism, and leisure sectors, reinforcing Sands’ commitment to fostering talent in the hospitality industry.
The scholarships, valued at $5,000 and $2,500, were awarded to students from the following institutions:
- University of Nevada, Las Vegas: 3 recipients
- College of Southern Nevada: 2 recipients
- University of North Texas: 5 recipients
- Dallas College: 1 recipient
The Sands Hospitality Advancement Scholarships are part of a broader effort by Sands to invest in hospitality education. This includes the Sands Hospitality Immersion Program with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the Sands Hospitality Scholarship Program in Singapore, and funding for the 2024 University of North Texas Las Vegas Study Tour. Sands also provides on-property training opportunities and mentorship from company leaders.
