6 lighted fields, parking coming to Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — Six new multi-use fields are coming to Craig Ranch Regional Park with expanded parking and lighting. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Three natural turf fields and three artificial turf fields — the first multi-use fields in North Las Vegas — are designed for soccer, football, lacrosse and other events, according to a Monday news release.

Officials from Clark County and North Las Vegas celebrated the groundbreaking near the southeast corner of the park at Craig Road and Commerce Street. A $10.2 million grant from the county made the multi-use fields possible, the news release said.

The project was previously scheduled for completion by June 30, 2024, according to information provided by North Las Vegas at the end of 2023 .

“We’re looking forward to the sports tourism that this could generate not only within our local community but also within the region,” Clark County Commissioner William McCurdy II said.

An additional $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture paid for the replacement of invasive tamarisk (salt cedar) trees with native species. That grant also funded expansion of the North Las Vegas tree maintenance program, the news release said.
