Downtown Las Vegas Veterans Day parade: Car clubs, military vehicles, more

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Veterans Day is a time of reflection and gratitude, a day to honor the sacrifices made by those who served our country, marked by both remembrance and celebration.

Dixon Keller is the communications director for the Veterans Action group and a Vietnam War veteran. Each year, the organization organizes and hosts the Veterans Day parade downtown.

“The Veterans parade is celebrating all veterans here in Las Vegas and the second largest veteran parade in the United States,” Keller explained. “It’s a chance for everyone to come out and to celebrate our veterans and for the kids, it’s all about what we call generational continuity. It’s for the kids to be standing along the sidewalks to learn about history, learn about veterans.”

It’s one of the reasons why Cambria Sanders and her family came out to show their support.

“My husband is retired from the United States Air Force, he served 20 years and we’re actually here for my son. He’s marching with the JROTC with Rancho High School following in his daddy’s footsteps,” Sanders said.
