LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Progress is underway as the City of Henderson continues to reshape the future and safety of one of Nevada’s oldest thoroughfares, Boulder Highway.
Starting Tuesday, the City of Henderson will begin work to install a storm drain at the intersection of Sunset Road and Boulder Highway to alleviate severe flooding known to occur in the area.

Residents who live nearby shared with 8 News Now the damage they’ve seen left behind when it rains.
“All the debris and rocks ends up on Boulder Highway and it creates a mess to have to drive through,” Jon Rowlett shared.
“The flooding in this area is a safety issue,” Michael Carino told 8 News Now.
“I’ve actually witnessed cars hydroplaning in front of me, so that poses a real issue,” he added.
