LAS VEGAS ( KLAS ) — North Las Vegas is looking at a blank slate as it considers choices for how to develop 7,000 acres on the north edge of the valley. City officials are seeking public input on what’s needed and what’s wanted.
City Manager Micaela Moore views it as “the art of possible,” and she’s encouraging people — residents and non-residents alike — to take a survey and offer their ideas on priorities for the property. “We want this to be a unique, special place in the valley,” she said.
“Most of it is currently BLM land, but we have the potential to master plan this and really take input from the community what they’d like to see as we vision this area,” Moore said.
With the Desert National Wildlife Refuge on the north, the Nellis Small Arms Range on the east, Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument to the west and the 215 Northern Beltway to the south, it’s an area that eventually will be home to UNLV’s North Campus , planned north of the Beltway between Lamb Boulevard and Pecos Road…
