Man convicted of killing two at Las Vegas homeless camp gets prison sentence

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The man convicted of killing two people at a homeless camp in Las Vegas two years ago will serve at least four decades behind bars.

Judge Carli Kierny on Tuesday sentenced Cristobal Perez, 32, after he pleaded guilty in February to the murders of Timothy Brenton and Ashley Burnell.

Kierny handed him 20 years to life for each count and ordered the sentences to run consecutively, per court records. That means Perez will have to serve at least 40 years in prison before he is eligible for parole, in keeping with his plea agreement.
