Lawsuit seeks to block county, state regulations on Las Vegas short-term rentals

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A collection of short-term rental property owners in the Las Vegas area is suing to block certain county and state regulations, arguing they unconstitutionally burden their rights.

The Greater Las Vegas Short-Term Rental Association is leading the challenge with a lawsuit filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for Nevada.

Critics of short-term rentals argued that the properties negatively affect affordable housing and neighborhood quality of life, leading to Nevada lawmakers passing AB 363 in 2021.
