Unknown substance mailed to health insurer’s Las Vegas offices; woman faces terror charge

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman is accused of sending a letter with an unknown substance to a health care insurance company’s Las Vegas offices, prompting an evacuation and her arrest, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Jennifer Forbes, 50, faces two terror-related charges for the incident on Tuesday, June 24. Las Vegas Metro police received a call from a UnitedHealthcare employee about a letter containing an unknown “black and yellow” substance. Employees at the health care company’s northwest valley offices, located on Tenaya Way near Cheyenne Avenue, received the letter, which “mentioned something about a fungus” and “flesh-eating bacteria,” documents said.

Police later evacuated the entire building and turned off the ventilation system as a precaution, they said…
