LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Four years after his release from a Nevada prison, former inmate Nicolai Mork was awarded $4.3 million by a federal jury in Reno.
Mork spent three years in jail at the Stewart Conservation Camp, where he claimed he was denied “adequate” medical treatment and, in turn, filed a lawsuit.
“I hope it shows the state of Nevada that it will be cheaper for them to provide the medical care they constitutionally owe to incarcerated people, rather than to ignore them and ignore their health issues and have it lead to a lawsuit,” attorney Adam Breeden said…
