Fire crews extinguish garage fire in Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Clark County Fire Department extinguished a garage fire in the Las Vegas valley Saturday.

Around 2:40 p.m., CCFD responded to a report of smoke coming from the front of a home in the 1200 block of Ponce de Leon Avenue near Warm Springs Road and the 215. When crews arrived, they found the garage of the home fully engulfed in flames, according to CCFD.

Two residents were found uninjured in the backyard of the home. The living area of the home had significant smoke exposure and the Red Cross was requested to assist two adults and two dogs, CCFD.

In total, 44 firefighters responded to the call, including seven engines, one truck, two rescues, two battalion chiefs, an air resource/rehab unit, and LVFR responded with their CBRN/Hazmat unit due to damage to a lithium-ion battery in the garage…
