LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A woman who randomly killed a carpet cleaner at an apartment complex last year could serve a decade in prison after pleading guilty but mentally ill, documents said.
Kayla Alery, 28, agreed to plead guilty Tuesday to a charge of second-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, records said.
As part of the deal, Alery could serve a minimum of 10 years in prison with an added sentence for the deadly-weapon enhancement.
