Man in 2003 Henderson cold case murder may serve no additional prison time

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man whose DNA connects him to a Henderson cold case murder may never serve any time behind bars as part of a plea agreement, documents said.

Last week, Ricky Trader, 48, agreed to plead guilty to a charge of second-degree murder for the 2003 death of Theresa Romano. Henderson police arrested Trader in July 2024 after they said DNA and fingerprints connected him to Romano’s murder.

At the time of his arrest, Trader was on parole for the 2003 murder of Robert Wittwer. The Nevada Parole Board granted Trader parole after he served 18 years of a 10-to-25-year sentence in that case, records said…
