LAS VEGAS — Resurrection Life Fellowship, a revival church on East Russell Road, has become a point of contention for some residents, according to a News 3 viewer. Concerns have been raised by our viewers about whether a homeless population is living on the church’s property, and if they are permitted to do so under local zoning laws.
T.J. Pele, a worshipper at the makeshift church, expressed his enthusiasm for the revival services that the church offers Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, saying, “I like when they preach that real, though. The real Bible.” He hopes the church’s presence will attract new worshippers, stating, “We are in the last days. You know? Jesus is coming back. And I just hope that people will stop by and hear the word. You know?”
News 3 asked Pele about our viewers’ claims that the church attracts several homeless individuals, leading to noise and trash issues in the community. When asked about these complaints, Pele said, “Yeah, uh. I do not know. I do not know about complaints or anything. But kind of just giving it up to God and minding my business.”
Upon visiting the site, News 3 found the church’s lot mostly free of trash, though an adjacent lot had some garbage. The adjacent lot, separated by a fence, may appear to some as being a part of the same property. The two lots have separate owners.
The church lot’s owner, Harold Erbacher, did not respond to requests for comment when asked about the homeless population despite returning an earlier call.
Pele and fellow worshipper Ronny Russell praised Erbacher’s efforts to assist the homeless. Russell said, “Harold will go out and try to find people out on the street. To help them and bring them here. Buy them clothes. Buy them food. Buy them McDonald’s. Whatever they need and he always says it’s given to him from God.”…
