Man behind Bob’s Bikes for Needy Kids passes away

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas valley man who put smiles on the faces of hundreds of children and adults passed away after a battle with prostate cancer.

Robert Crane, the founder of Bob’s Bikes for Needy Kids, was known for giving back to the community, providing families with free refurbished bikes for more than 10 years.

“I know I can’t solve it all, but I’m trying. A bike is something simple,” he told 8NewsNow in a 2018 interview.

Crane made Bob’s Bikes a full-time job, working out of his garage. He said it was all about putting smiles on the kids’ faces and getting hugs.

“I’m going to keep on doing this until the man upstairs says different,” Crane told 8NewsNow in December 2023 as he rushed to get bikes really for the holiday season…
