Nevada unemployment rate drops to 5.4% as labor force grows

Las Vegas (KSNV) — Nevada’s unemployment rate has decreased by 0.1 percentage points, now standing at 5.4 percent, according to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s (DETR) June 2025 economic report.

The report also highlighted a growth in the labor force, which increased by 3,328 individuals.

Breakdown:

  • Las Vegas employment decreased by 2,300 jobs (-0.2%) since May, a decrease of 2,000 jobs (-0.2%) since June 2024.
  • Reno employment had a decrease of 1,700 jobs (-0.6%) since May, an increase of 1,500 jobs (0.5%) since June 2024.
  • Carson City employment had a decrease of 100 jobs (-0.3%) since May, an increase of 300 jobs (0.9%) since June 2024.
