Over 160 people graduate from Vegas PBS workforce training program

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — For 15 years, Vegas PBS has gone beyond television programming with its Workforce Training and Economic Development program. Saturday, it recognized 164 graduates taking the next steps in their careers.

The online school prepares people for all sorts of careers, with popular options including medical assistants, IT and entrepreneurship. Asia Crowfield, who walked across the stage Saturday, is now a medical assistant and entrepreneur, running a lemonade business with her daughter.

“I was working in the restaurant industry as a mom, and just trying to figure out myself what I wanted to do, how I wanted to navigate my way through the world,” Crowfield said. “Now that all my kids are in school, I’m ready to put my foot back in, and this was the perfect stepping stone for me to get back into the workforce and do something that matters. It’s important to help my community in the medical field.”

Crowfield’s story was one of many in the room Saturday. People of all different ages and backgrounds were united by a blue graduation cap and the path to a new career…
