PBS leader warns of uncertain future for educational services after budget cuts

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Federal budget cuts are hitting public broadcasting hard, with Vegas PBS facing a $3.8 million reduction over two years.

Dr. Niki Brunetti, Director of Education Services and Business Development at Vegas PBS, said the local share of these federal clawbacks amounts to $1.9 million annually.

Brunetti expressed concern over the impact on commercial-free programming for children. “My biggest fear is that commercial-free, very important concept, commercial-free programming for kids, is in jeopardy, and what that is going to look like. Nobody knows at this point in time,” she said…
