Necropsy on Las Vegas dog found dead in wire crate points to heat stroke

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A dog found dead in a wire crate next to a dumpster east of the downtown area last month likely died of “heatstroke,” according to the necropsy report.

The dog was discovered and reported to police on July 11, around 6:20 a.m., on North 27th Street, near Eastern and Sunrise avenues. At that time, police said it appeared the dog was already dead when it was left by the dumpster.
