Widow of fallen trooper speaks out against drunk driving for annual campaign

LAS VEGAS — Law enforcement agencies across the valley are joining forces tonight to target impaired drivers as part of the annual Micah May Joining Forces DUI Campaign.

Trooper Micah May served with the Nevada Highway Patrol for nearly 14 years. On July 27, 2021, during an armed carjacking incident, police said the suspect intentionally hit Trooper May as he was deploying stop sticks on I-15. May died in the hospital two days later.

Joanna May, joined by her children, 7-year-old Raylan and 4-year-old Melody, helped kick off the campaign in his honor…
