LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – There’s a renewed push to keep students away from gangs and guns this upcoming school year as classes in the Clark County School District are set to start in less than two weeks.
It all comes amid a concern of gang activity at a high school in North Las Vegas.

During the 2024-2025 school year, 8 News Now reported on a number of gang-affiliated students arrested at Legacy High School who were found with guns.

From last August to May, police seized a total of eight firearms at Legacy High. School police said for the upcoming school year, they’re more focused on addressing bad behavior.
“Whereas another agency may have to work from the outside in, we’re working from the inside out. So, what that means to us is that we’re going to be proactive and building a rapport with these children,” Sgt. Bernardo Abarca with the Clark County School District Police Department said…
