As new information about the terrible shooting that happened in New York on Monday this week surfaces, it has become apparent that the gunman, Shane Tamura, was once arrested in 2023 at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.

Tamura Had Been arrested in a Las Vegas Casino Before

According to an arrest report referenced by several news outlets, the Las Vegas resident was taken into custody on September 27, 2023, after allegedly refusing to leave Red Rock Casino in Summerlin. The incident reportedly started when Tamura declined to present identification to claim a $5,000 prize, then refused to leave the casino’s cashier area until he received the money.

The situation escalated, and Tamura reached out to grab the security officer who had been called to help defuse the situation. At that point, a police sergeant placed him in handcuffs. Tamura was then held in a security holding cell, where he eventually gave officers his name and date of birth after being informed he could face arrest. Officers later escorted him to the parking lot and notified him that he was trespassing.

Officers arrested Tamura for trespassing and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center. He was released a few hours later. Two months afterward, prosecutors dismissed the charges, citing the minor nature of the offense, which was classified as a low-level misdemeanor…
