Nevada labeled as ‘sanctuary state’ by US Justice Department

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The U.S. Justice Department has labeled Nevada as a “sanctuary jurisdiction,” a designation that state leaders have already vehemently refuted.

Nevada was included in a list of states identified as so-called sanctuary jurisdictions published Tuesday. In a news release, the Justice Department said these states have “policies, laws, or regulations that impede enforcement of federal immigration laws.”

“The Department of Justice will continue bringing litigation against sanctuary jurisdictions and work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to eradicate these harmful policies around the country,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement…
