The wife of the man arrested in connection with a July 27 jewelry store burglary in Cedar City is also now behind bars, where she faces a felony obstruction charge.
Melissa Renee Resma, 50, of Las Vegas, was booked into Iron County Jail on July 30. According to a probable cause statement filed in support of her arrest, she faces a single count of attempted obstruction of justice involving first-degree felony conduct, which is classified as a second-degree felony.
As previously reported, Eric Drexel Resma, 47, and an accomplice are accused of burglarizing a Cedar City jewelry store in the early morning hours of July 27 and stealing approximately $70,000 worth of merchandise. Resma was apprehended later that same morning after the vehicle he was driving ended up crashing on a frontage road just off Interstate 15’s Exit 30, near Pintura.
