STRAT struggles through rough times in Las Vegas; Golden Entertainment looks for positives

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Golden Entertainment, parent company of The STRAT, reported lower revenues and earnings in the second quarter as occupancy dipped to 60% in June at the iconic tower resort.

Golden Entertainment’s leaders found some positives in good performances at their resorts in Laughlin during the quarter, but The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower is in a sort of no man’s land. Locals casinos have done fine through the economic uncertainty that set in earlier this year, and luxury resorts have found some stability.

But the STRAT hasn’t flourished as a locals destination…
