LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) and NV Energy are collaborating to assist seniors struggling with past-due utility bills through the annual Project REACH Senior Expos. The initiative kicks off on August 19 at Palace Station and aims to provide financial relief to seniors aged 62 and older facing economic hardship.
Karen Alonso, Chief Advancement and Communications Officer for United Way, explained that the expos offer emergency utility bill assistance, allowing eligible seniors to receive up to $300 toward overdue electricity, gas, water, or sewer bills. “The program has helped thousands of households stay safe and comfortable in their homes, especially during extreme weather,” said Alonso.
