Nevada background check flagged New York City gunman as ‘unresolved’ — twice

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A state background check was incomplete when a Las Vegas man bought the rifle he would then use to commit a mass shooting in New York City.

On Monday, July 28, Shane Tamura, 27, killed four people and then himself in the shooting inside a Manhattan office building that houses the National Football League (NFL). Tamura, who played high school football, claimed to have chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and appeared to blame the league for his suffering.
