Federal judge sentences man with violent record to 6 years on immigration charge

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Mexican national with a violent record was sentenced Friday to six years in prison for illegally reentering the country after he was removed twice.

Otoniel Lugo-Campos was also ordered to serve three years of supervised release.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada, Lugo-Campos shot a former girlfriend, her new boyfriend and a neighbor — a bullet went through the wall of the apartment building — on March 8, 2021. At the time, he had already been deported twice…
