Homeowner left to cover damages after Las Vegas SWAT raid goes awry

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — What started as a peaceful morning quickly turned into chaos for southwest Las Vegas homeowner, Kim Layson, who says she’s been left to cover thousands of dollars in damages after she says SWAT mistakenly raided her home.

“I got alerted for my security system, saying that someone is in my driveway. And then when I went to go look, that’s when I saw the SWAT truck in my driveway. And that’s when a lot of my cameras just kind of got shot at and went offline, and I couldn’t view anything else,” said homeowner Kim Layson.

Video shared with News 3 shows the initial moments Layson was alerted to. However, the aftermath of Wednesday morning’s raid left extensive damage to Layson’s garage, front door, and various parts of the property. Layson tells News 3 the damage has left an even bigger dent in her finances after being told she’d be liable for the damage caused, even though the suspect, who law enforcement was searching for, did not reside at the property…
