Fentanyl-laced mail, code words and a fatal overdose: the alleged scheme to get drugs inside Nevada prisons

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man is accused of smuggling drugs to Nevada and California prison inmates by sending fentanyl-laced envelopes disguised as legal mail in a scheme that spanned at least seven different facilities, according to a Las Vegas Metro police report obtained by the 8 News Now Investigators.

Hoza Del Collins, 30, advertised his alleged drug dealing on social media, made posts revealing the process and supplies, and was caught on surveillance video personally sending the drug-laced mail, police said.

Collins faces charges including second-degree murder for supplying substances causing death, selling or transporting controlled substances, and furnishing controlled substances to a state prisoner. He is a former Nevada Department of Corrections inmate, previously incarcerated from February 2016 to February 2017 after he violated probation in a burglary case, according to records…
