Las Vegas Uber driver handed suspended sentence after killing bystander

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — An Uber driver who Las Vegas police said twice ran over an innocent bystander will avoid jail time, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Kevin Vo, 45, initially faced a charge of reckless driving resulting in death, records said. Vo was driving for the rideshare company at the time, police said.

Records show Vo pleaded no contest to a charge of vehicular manslaughter on Wednesday. Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Joe Bonaventure sentenced him to a suspended jail sentence of 30 days, meaning Vo will not go to jail unless he fails to stay out of trouble…
