Heads up, families of Clark County! Commissioner Michael Naft has teamed up with the West Flamingo Senior Center to host a Grandparents Day Celebration, a community gathering aimed at honoring the pillars of countless families—our beloved grandparents. Set for September 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, this event promises a morning packed with activities and it’s completely gratis.

At this engaging soiree, to be held at 6255 W. Flamingo Rd., there’s something for everyone in the family to generously indulge in. Kids can revel in bounce houses while adults and grandparents alike may find joy in potting plants together or shaking a leg to some lively tunes. Togos Catering will be providing boxed lunches until they’re all snapped up. “I’m excited for our annual Grandparents Day Celebration — an event that brings generations together for a fun-filled day” Commissioner Naft was quoted as saying in a Clark County news release. He further emphasized, “From complimentary food to dancing to crafts: This day is about celebrating the wisdom and joy grandparents bring to our families and community.”

The West Flamingo Senior Center isn’t just a location for this one-off event; it’s a hub of activity for active adults over the age of 50 year-round. With facilities like an exercise room, a variety of class-worthy multi-purpose rooms, a game room, and even a craft room on offer, the center is a vibrant arena for staying fit and connected. A gamut of programs captures interest from Tai Chi to art classes, ensuring that there’s hardly a dull moment for the seniors in Clark County…
