Lake Mead Weather Update: 111°F Highs and Hot, Calm Waters Into Monday

Las Vegas, Nev. – Sweltering heat is set to grip southern Nevada’s lakes through Labor Day, with highs peaking near 111°F and strong winds stirring up waves at Lake Mohave. The National Weather Service warns boaters and swimmers to prepare for dangerous conditions, especially where gusts could top 20 mph and create choppy waters of up to 1.5 feet.

According to the National Weather Service Las Vegas, Lake Mead will see temperatures climb from 108°F Saturday to 111°F Monday, with relatively calm winds under 10 mph keeping waves around a foot. Lake Havasu will run just as hot, with highs near 109°F Sunday and breezier conditions returning Monday as winds increase up to 20 mph.
