LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The family of a steelworker who died while building grandstands for the inaugural Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against several companies.
On Sept. 23, 2023, Tizoc Antonio, 37, was just hours into his first day working on the F1 construction project at the Bellagio Fountains when he died. Antonio died from an “incised wound of the neck,” the Clark County coroner’s office said.
Antonio attended an on-site training session that morning, documents said. Around 11:30 a.m., Antonio and other crew members were making small cuts in aluminum decking with an Evolution electric concrete saw “because the aluminum decking was too tight to fit around an aluminum column,” documents said…
