Labor Day will be hottest day of the week

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A beautiful sky with mid-level clouds started off Labor Day. The morning low temperatures were in the 80s around the valley, which is a little above normal. The high temperatures reached back into the low 100s over the weekend. The high temperature will go higher today, reaching above normal at 105 degrees, and will be the hottest day of the week.

  • Early morning clouds are clearing
  • Extra-hot temps today at 105
  • Trading heat for monsoon thunderstorms again
  • Chances for thunderstorms nearly every day

A decent chance of thunderstorms is expected later in the afternoon and early evening for Las Vegas and other areas of Clark County, NW Arizona, and SE California.

The pattern stays somewhat stagnant through the week with few changes. There should be just enough moisture present each day to allow for a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms, if only over the higher terrain. Thursday may be the only exception. Highs will remain near the normal range of 100/99 for the week, then slightly decrease by the weekend…
