LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A police barricade that lasted for nearly nine hours, closing all foot and vehicle traffic on Paradise Road overnight, ended Thursday morning with the suspect found dead inside a vehicle.
Las Vegas Metropolitan police said officers started tracking a felony suspect around 11 p.m. Wednesday, following him to the parking lot of Silver Sevens Hotel & Casino, where he barricaded himself in a car, refusing to leave. SWAT responded to the barricade and attempted to make contact with the man.
Police said SWAT officers later found the man dead in the vehicle from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Metro said the barricade didn’t involve hostages or an evacuation of the hotel.
