LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Maximilliano Chavez, the suspect in a deadly DUI crash that ended an unborn baby’s life on Saturday and left a child in critical condition, appeared in court on Sunday afternoon.
Chavez’s bail is set at $250,000 and will have high-level electronic monitoring. He will not be allowed to drive or drink during the case. He will also have an alcohol monitoring device.

According to Metro, Chavez ran a red light at the intersection of Blue Diamond Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard, crashing into multiple vehicles and killing a pregnant woman’s baby. The woman and another child inside the car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

“This an adult who is in critical condition in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. There’s another child in the hospital with life-threatening injuries of fractured skull of brain bleed. It is unclear to the court at this juncture the status of those two alleged victims and whether or not those two alleged victims will survive their injuries,” said Judge Amy Ferreira…
