A late-night collision in southeast Las Vegas has resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and the arrest of the other driver on DUI-related charges. News3LV reports that the accident occurred at the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and McLeod Drive around 11:25 p.m. on Friday.
The motorcyclist, who was eastbound on a 2020 Harley-Davidson Lowrider S, collided with a westbound 2010 Honda Accord attempting a left turn onto McLeod Drive, traveling across the motorcycle’s path. After being ejected onto the roadway from the impact, the rider was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital, despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel to save him.
The driver of the Honda, identified by FOX5 Vegas as 36-year-old Bryan Vargas-Caicedo of Las Vegas, exhibited signs of impairment at the scene. Vargas-Caicedo is currently facing charges for DUI, failing to yield the right of way on a yellow arrow, operating an unregistered vehicle, and driving without a license.
