Las Vegas suspect in ‘Reba’ the bulldog’s death sentenced

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One of the two suspects in the death of an English bulldog called “Reba” was sentenced Wednesday to 16 months to four years in prison.

“Reba” was found in a sealed plastic tub left by a dumpster in July 2024 when the temperature was 110 degrees. Although she was rescued and being treated by a veterinarian, she died the following day from complications of heat stroke.

Isaac Laushaul Jr., 33, has a credit of 278 days served, so if he serves the minimum sentence, he will only serve slightly more than a year. He accepted a plea deal, admitting to a felony count of cruelty to animals last month.

According to his plea deal, prosecutors agreed not to make a recommendation on his sentencing, and Laushaul agreed to pay restitution to include veterinary costs…
