LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — As “Thank an Officer Day” approaches this Saturday, the Injured Police Officers Fund (IPOF) is encouraging the community to show their support by contributing to their cause. The nonprofit organization, dedicated to alleviating financial burdens for officers and their families following line-of-duty injuries or deaths, has been instrumental in providing assistance across Southern Nevada.
Detective Alexander Cuevas of the North Las Vegas Police Department, who also serves as the president of IPOF, highlighted the organization’s impact. “To date, IPOF has helped more than 50 officers and families,” said Cuevas. He noted the recent support provided to Officer Roscow’s family, who tragically lost his life in February. “On top of our $30,000 line of duty death benefit, we have raised over $100,000 for his boys,” Cuevas added.
The IPOF also extends immediate assistance to injured officers, as demonstrated when they provided $500 to a CCSDPD officer’s family to alleviate immediate concerns following an injury…
