A 23-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in a crash last Friday evening in North Las Vegas, an event that has prompted an investigation by local authorities. According to a report by News3LV, the North Las Vegas Police Department responded to a collision in the 2800 block of Pecos Road, around 7:49 p.m., involving the motorcycle and a Honda SUV.
The incident took place at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard North and Pecos Road. The motorcyclist who has yet to be named, was found with critical injuries at the scene and was declared deceased shortly after. Preliminary findings from the North Las Vegas Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit suggest that the motorcyclist, who was traveling southbound on Pecos Road at a high rate of speed, might have collided with the Honda SUV as it was turning left into a business parking lot from the northbound lanes, though the investigation is ongoing to determine if impairment was also a factor in the crash.
The driver of the Honda SUV, who was involved in the incident, remained on scene and cooperated with the authorities.
