Carlos n Charlie’s at Flamingo Las Vegas Closing After 12 Years with 79 Jobs Lost

Carlos ’n Charlie’s, the lively Mexican restaurant located in the Flamingo on the Las Vegas Strip, will permanently close on November 18, ending a run that began in April 2012. The closure will result in 79 employees losing their jobs. The restaurant notified Nevada employment officials of the shutdown and layoffs in a September 17 letter, as required under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.

According to the letter, the closure was prompted by the landlord forcing the company out of its leased premises to make changes in the area. With the implementation of an early termination clause in the lease, Carlos ’n Charlie’s stated it has lost the ability to conduct business, leading to the decision to lay off its workforce.

The restaurant, known for dishes such as chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, nachos, and quesabirria, as well as its flair bartenders and terrace cocktails, has been a staple at the Flamingo for over 12 years…
