Las Vegas man to serve at least 10 years in prison following deadly shooting on I-15

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man will serve at least a decade in prison after shooting and killing another man in a truck on the I-15.

Joseph De Luna, 28, was sentenced to 10 to 25 years as part of a plea agreement he made with prosecutors back in August. The deal called for a second-degree murder conviction from the judge.

The shooting took place in March along the southbound lanes of I-15 near Cheyenne Avenue. Nevada State Police responded to the call with the help of North Las Vegas police after a report of a homicide.

When troopers and officers arrived, they found De Luna and another man inside the truck. The victim was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. De Luna called 911 following the shooting, according to police.
