LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — More than 150 American Red Cross of Southern Nevada volunteers hit the streets with Clark County firefighters to install free smoke alarms around the community.
The devices are small but have a big impact. Red Cross volunteers say that when a fire starts, people only have two minutes to get out of a house.
“If you don’t have a smoke detector to let you know, your time decreases significantly, so we want to make sure that you have those,” Rachel Flanigan, executive director of Southern Nevada’s American Red Cross chapter, said.
